Hello, welcome to my Blog this week.
This week’s poems and lyrics….
“The roads that lead to Brigadoon”.
Written after a failed attempt to get to a meeting, I drove in circles but never got there! The reference to Brigadoon is to the musical starring Gene Kelly, Brigadoon being a Scots village that emerges from the mists every hundred years.

”No new found”
Sometimes we realise that we have run out of road, we have all we need around us, yet are frustrated in that we still feel the urge to have more. Just human nature!
Poem of the week on the homepage, “that one great thing” is just my thoughts and realisation that if we recognise that one thing we are really good at then with work and focus we can excel.
Till next time keep safe and well,
Best wishes, Louis

The roads that lead to Brigadoon
(To the tune of: The Northern lights of Old Aberdeen)
The roads that lead to Brigadoon
Have many curious ways.
You’ll drive and travel many miles
Get lost and in a haze.
You set off hopeful with joyous heart
Then round in circles with roadworks crap!
For “Brigadoon”s are nowhere found
Even with a map!
No new found
It’s the usual situation
All gone wrong but I don’t know what.
I’ve planned for new but then find already
Lots of stuff I’ve already got.
Like Alexander with no more land or world
Run out of road, into despair, gloom I’m hurled.
Can’t go forward, can’t go back
Caught up with too much, not with lack.
That one great thing
That one great thing
Before you run out of road.
That one great thing
Your life’s purpose, motherlode.
That shining, sparkling gem
Leads, guiding always true
Though others false
Leave you betrayed.
Before which all
And every other thing
Seem dull and in a shade.
