Missing Your Love

Hello and welcome to my Blog.
This issue’s poems and lyrics….
“Norsemen Song”. A set of lyrics with Vikings as the subject. Would probably suit a Viking metal band, or “Game of Thrones” fan? This is what comes following reading the Edda (Scandinavian stories).
Vikings like Pirates, have a romanticized image. The reality is that Viking culture was a blend of the warrior alongside arts.
”When will the wheel” Another song lyric. Seems at times that despite all efforts, no rewards come to you, but you have to keep on.
When you are poet, writer, artist, or other arts practitioner; then the work has to be done regardless of rewards back, since the expressions are part of who you are.
Poem of the week on the homepage is “Missing your love”. In Country & Western mode, a waltz; the lyrics reflect on how sometimes all you need is there but you don’t see it till it’s too late!
Thanks for reading my Blog. Till next time keep safe and well,
Best wishes
Louis

When will the wheel
VERSE #1
When will the wheel turn in my favour?
That random goodness that falls on others
Not yet me.
When will the blue skies, sun appearing
Warming me through
When will I see?
CHORUS
Wait and a while, the paths will open
Wait and a while, gifts you’ll receive.
Wait and a while, all wrongs are corrected
Just hang in there and believe.
VERSE #2
When will the work and plans seem fresh and easy
With symbols of success, that others flaunt
When will returns for my efforts invested
Appear in my hands, so bare, so scant.
CHORUS
Wait and a while, the paths will open
Wait and a while, gifts you’ll receive.
Wait and a while, all wrongs are corrected
Just hang in there and believe.
Norsemen Song
VERSE #1
We met with strangers on the plain
Tried to push them back, they came again.
Fights and quarrels in Valhalla’s hall
Keep your sword sharp
Stand don’t fall.
VERSE#2
Turning turning to the burning scene
What now is ashes, once was green.
See them running from Vikingr’s lance
Scattered and twisting in death’s dance.
CHORUS
Strike
And we go on again
Burn
With the scars we earn
Slash
Through the ranks before
Death
Only means fear no more.
Death means Valhalla’s here.
